Registration to the technical tours is limited to one technical tour per participant. Accompanying persons can register to the same technical tour as the main participant. All of the technical tours will have English and French speaking guides available.

Breakfast on the farm

This farm visit will include a presentation from the farmer on his work and the solutions used to adapt to climate change, particularly in terms of reducing the carbon/methane impact on the farm.

Discovery of the Danone Pays de Bray dairy

For over 150 years, this dairy processor in Normandy has put innovation at the heart of its expertise.  A true European flagship, it has established a benchmark in the production of fresh dairy products (yoghurts and ‘fromage frais’).  With more than 2.5 million cartons produced daily, including the recent launch of the HIPRO+ range, developed as part of their partnership for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the site is also a driving force and pioneer in environmental issues, particularly in terms of its management of water resources and energy consumption.

Lunch and return to Paris.

Immersion in an Interbranch laboratory URIANE (Union Régionale Interprofessionnelle d'Analyses du Nord Est)

The Uriane laboratory, located in the Hauts-de-France region, is one of 11 laboratories recognised by the Ministry of Agriculture and authorised to conduct milk payment analyses. The lab also conducts analyses on behalf of the Entreprises de Conseils en Elevage (ECEL), milk sanitary analyses (animal health) on behalf of veterinary services and departmental health bodies, and various bacteriological and chemical-physics analyses (milk, dairy products, water, etc.), along with external controls (sampling controls, payroll controls, etc). The laboratory undertakes these analyses under accreditations issued by COFRAC, the national French accreditation body.

Discover the Danone Bailleul Dairy

Established in 1925 in Bailleul, in the north of France, this dairy processes around 220 million litres of milk into dairy products every year, including the iconic Danette product range. Milk is collected from some 430 partner dairy farms within a 35 km radius of the plant. This visit offers an opportunity to explore the local roots of the dairy industry, as well as the transfer of skills and the attractiveness of the dairy professions, which are at the heart of the relationship between dairy farmers and processors in our regions. With renewal of generations identified as one of the priority issues for the dairy industry, this visit will provide an opportunity to talk to new partner farmers who have recently set up business and will share their experience.

Visit to the Eurial Ingredients and Nutrition dairy processor in Herbignac

The Eurial Ingredients and Nutrition dairy processor in Herbignac is a major player in the production of dairy products in western France. Processing 700 million litres of milk per year, the site supports an entire local economy, employing 310 people and collecting milk from nearly 1,000 local producers. Specialising in the production of Mozzarella (44,000T) and dry ingredients (32,000T), the site has been on a decarbonisation trajectory for over 10 years, with a biomass boiler and numerous projects to reduce energy consumption.

Visit to the Ferme des Moulins, a cow milk dairy farm and its methaniser

This dairy farm, committed to reducing its environmental footprint, is a regional pioneer in energy production via its methanisation system.

Discover the Low Carbon Dairy Farm initiative in action!

The Low Carbon Dairy Farm initiative is supported and developed by the French Dairy Interbranch Organization (CNIEL), with the aim of reducing dairy farm greenhouse gas emissions. Dairy farmers engaged in the Low Carbon Dairy Farm initiative receive a carbon audit (using the CAP'2ER® tool). Based on the results, dairy farmers get individual advice and solutions, specifically adapted to their farm and ambitions. Support is provided by technical advisors trained in the CAP'2ER® diagnostic tool.

Every day, the Laboratoire Départemental d'Analyses du Jura (LDA39) works to guarantee and protect the health of humans, animals and the environment. The laboratory offers a wide range of services: analysis, sampling, collection, advice and training. The laboratory is one of 11 in France recognised by the Ministry of Agriculture and authorised to carry out milk payment analyses. The laboratory conducts analyses under accreditations issued by COFRAC, the French national accreditation body.

Visit to an organic dairy farm

This organic dairy farm has found the right balance in respecting the land while introducing innovation to meet the criteria for organic farming via environmentally-friendly production methods.
